Naomi Kefford and Lynne Moore - authors
Lynne and Naomi were both thirty-something teachers when they started writing together in 2004.
When they first met in 1996 they were working as primary school teachers at Holy Trinity School in Guildford, nationally recognised by OFSTED as one of the most successful and creative primary schools in the country. Here they enjoyed the opportunity to write stories and poems, and to write and stage productions both for the children and for a creative and ‘thespian’ staff. Lynne and Naomi both had their first children in 2001, when Lynne left the school and moved to Hertfordshire. Their second children were born in 2003.
Hours spent with highly imaginative toddlers gave Lynne and Naomi a passion for picture books. When the Dragons Came, their first book, was prompted by dragon hunts with their four boys and a rather damp camping experience. Their second book, All Aboard the Animal Train, was inspired by many painfully long trips to the local shops. It’s a slow walk when each and every minute object is subject to the wide-eyed scrutiny of a toddler!
