Sean Taylor - author
Sean Taylor is the author of many books for children of many different ages. His books include the Purple Class series of comic adventures set in an urban primary school, a collection of folktales from the Amazon called The Great Snake, and picture books for younger readers such as Boing!, When a Monster is Born and Crocodiles are the Best Animals of All. Over the years he and his family have spent spells living in England (where he was born) and Brazil (where his wife is from).
Sean started writing poetry as a teenager. Then, in 1993, he came across a newspaper article which reported that a goat slaughtered by a Muslim cleric in Iran had been found to have teeth made of gold. He tried writing a story for children. It was called The Goat with the Golden Teeth. It won second prize in a competition run by The Independent and Scholastic Children's Books. Since then, Sean has focussed on writing for young readers. He also works as a storyteller, and has more than twenty years experience of working with stories and poetry in schools.
